About Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram (earlier called Trivandrum) is located on the west coast of India near the southern tip of the Indian peninsula. It is the capital of the southern Indian state of Kerala. The population of Thiruvananthapuram is about 1 million.

Getting to Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram is well connected to other cities in India by train and air. There are direct flights to Thiruvananthapuram from major international air hubs such as Mumbai (Bombay), Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai (Madras).

In addition, there are also direct international flights from cities such as Dubai (Emirates), Doha (Qatar Airways) and Singapore (Silk Air, Tiger Airways).

Reaching the conference venue

The venue of the conference is the LDI Building of the Tata Consultancy Services, Technopark Campus. Technopark is located along the Kazhakuttom - Kovalam bypass road. You may reach the bypass road from North or South of the city. The image below, though not to scale, will be able to guide you to TCS Technopark from there.

Accommodation

We have negotiated special rates for ATVA 2012 participants with some hotels in the city. You can know about these rates by getting in touch with the reservation desk of any of the following hotels and by quoting 'TCS' or 'ATVA 2012'.

Apart from these, the following are some budget options that are available in the vicinity of the conference venue.

Local Conveyance

We have arranged buses from the hotels listed above for the participants to come to the conference venue. These buses would also drop the participants back to the hotels in the evening. The main gate of each hotel has been chosen as the pick-up point. The time of pick-up can be found against the name of the hotel in the following table:

Please note that the buses would not be able to wait too long on the roads, due to the traffic. We request you to be present at the main gate of your hotel a couple of minutes earlier than the scheduled time.
