India wins one silver and two bronze medals at IOI-2006, Merida, Mexico

The International Olympiad in Informatics, 2006 (IOI-2006) was held at Merida, Mexico in August, 2006. The Indian team won three medals - one silver and two bronze. The three students who won medals at IOI-2006 are:

  • Harpreet Singh, Silver medal
  • Prateek Karandikar, Bronze medal
  • Swarun Kumar S, Bronze medal

  • The ZIO and INOI examinations were conducted in collaboration with the Central Board for Secondary Education.

  • Sasken sponsored the 16 day training camp from 14-29 June, 2006 in Bangalore to choose the final team and also provided full financial support for the team's trip to IOI-2006.

The team to represent India at IOI-2006 at Merida, Mexico in August has been selected. The team members are:

The Leader and Deputy Leader of the Indian contingent will be Prof Madhavan Mukund, Chennai Mathematical Institute, Chennai and Dr K Narayan Kumar, Chennai Mathematical Institute, Chennai.

The team was chosen at the end of a 16 day training camp, held in Bangalore during the period 14-29 June, 2006. We thank Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd for sponsoring the camp and The International School Bangalore for making their congenial campus available to us for holding the camp.

The Indian team's travel to IOI-2006 will be sponsored by Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd.

Indian National Olympiad in Informatics, 2006

INOI-2006 was held on Saturday, 22 April, 2006. 29 students have qualified from INOI-2006 for the training camp in June to select the Indian team to IOI-2006.

Zonal Informatics Olympiad, 2006

The Zonal Informatics Olympiad, 2006 (ZIO-2006) was held on Saturday, 28 January, 2006. Of the 6200 students who participated in ZIO-2006, 230 students have qualified for the Indian National Olympiad in Informatics, 2006 (INOI-2006).
